Toothpaste given away in Ghana

Our friend Michelle McGowan recently returned from a missions trip to Africa where she took needed supplies to a very remote area.  Thanks to Michelle for all she did and a reminder to all of our wonderful patients who take missions trips to be sure to call us so we can send toothbrushes and toothpaste along with you on your trip too!

Hi Tim and Sandi,
I just returned from a mission trip to Alavanyo, Ghana and wanted to give you some pictures for your website. I went by myself to Ghana and paired up with a friend who works with the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) in Accra, Ghana and we recruited 2 of my friends to travel to 3 impoverished villages in remote areas. It was by far the biggest leap of Faith I have ever taken. Only through God’s vision was I able to plan and execute this program. I collected 100 pairs of used soccer cleats from the Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Colorado Springs and Castle Rock Play It Again Sports outlets, along with 100 pairs of children’s socks donated by my Bible study group, as well as the toothbrushes and toothpaste that you and Tim generously donated and away I went! I also took children’s vitamins, beanie babies, notebooks, pencils, soccer balls, toys and books. I was completely self-funded by the Grace of God and was able to pay $600 in excess baggage fees, on top of my $1100 airfare. I ate and lodged with the locals and wow, what a journey.
I wanted to take some time to thank you for your donation of the electronic toothbrush for my fundraiser, as well as the toothbrushes and toothpaste and ask that you please keep me in mind for any future donations. I plan to go back in March, to duplicate my mission and continue to grow in my humanitarian endeavors.
Here are some pictures for your website, and if you wish to feature anything further please let me know as there are many more pictures where these came from.
God Bless you and your beautiful family for your generosity and I pray that God keeps you all wrapped tightly in His Grace, today and always.
Merry Christmas,
Michelle McGowan
